Khatm-e-Qadria: A Treasure of Spiritual Blessings and Grace

Introduction
The practice of reciting Khatm-e-Qadria is religiously permissible and considered a praiseworthy act. It involves supplication to Allah through the intercession of the Holy Prophet ﷺ and the saints, which is supported by the Quran and Hadith.

The Permissibility of Intercession

Allah states in the Quran:
“O you who have believed, fear Allah and seek a means to Him.” (Surah Al-Ma’idah: 35)

The commentary of this verse, as explained in Tafseer Sirat-ul-Jinan, highlights that seeking the intercession of righteous individuals to supplicate in the court of Allah is not only permissible but was also the practice of the Companions of the Prophet ﷺ.

Seeking Help from Others Besides Allah

The Quran also recounts the words of Prophet Isa (Jesus) when he sought helpers:
Jesus, the son of Mary, said to the disciples: ‘Who are my helpers for Allah?’ The disciples said: ‘We are the helpers of Allah’s (religion).'” (Surah Aal-e-Imran: 52)

This shows that seeking assistance from the righteous in religious matters is permissible.

Evidence from Hadith

Hazrat Uthman bin Hunaif (RA) narrated that a blind man once came to the Holy Prophet ﷺ and requested him to pray for his sight to be restored. The Prophet ﷺ told him to perform ablution, offer two units of prayer, and then recite the following supplication:
“O Allah! I ask You and turn to You through Your Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), the Prophet of mercy. O Muhammad (PBUH),! I seek your intercession with my Lord for my need to be fulfilled. O Allah, accept his intercession for me.”
(Sunan Ibn Majah)

This Hadith establishes the validity of intercession through the Prophet ﷺ for fulfilling needs.

Conclusion

The recitation of (ختم قادریہ)Khatm-e-Qadria, including its Persian verses and invoking the names of the Holy Prophet ﷺ, the Rightly Guided Caliphs, and Hazrat Ghaus-e-Azam Abdul Qadir Jilani (RA), is permissible. These acts are deeply rooted in the teachings of the Quran and Hadith.

Therefore, Khatm-e-Qadria is not only a legitimate practice but also a means of attaining spiritual blessings and divine grace.
